JK Lakshmi Cement Targets 120 Electric Vehicles by March 2027
New Delhi, October 27, 2026: JK Lakshmi Cement has deployed more than 70 electric vehicles (EVs) across its key logistics routes and plans to expand its fleet to 120 vehicles by March 2027. The company has also achieved nearly 100% EV-based clinker dispatches from its Sirohi plant in Rajasthan to its Kalol Grinding Unit in Gujarat.
The deployment is part of the cement manufacturer's efforts to adopt electric mobility for long-haul transportation and reduce the environmental impact of its logistics operations. The company is expanding EV usage across routes connecting its Sirohi plant with the Kalol Grinding Unit, Palanpur Unit and Surat Grinding Unit.
To support the deployment, JK Lakshmi Cement is working with specialised electric vehicle logistics providers SwitchLabs and Billion E. The expansion is intended to increase the use of cleaner transportation solutions across its logistics network.
Commenting on the initiative, Ms. Vinita Singhania, Chairperson and Managing Director, JK Lakshmi Cement, said, “At JK Lakshmi Cement, we are focused on integrating sustainable practices across our operations while ensuring long-term business efficiency. With a fleet of 70+ electric vehicles currently operating across our logistics network, we are making tangible progress in adopting cleaner transportation solutions. The transition to EV-based clinker dispatches on the Sirohi–Kalol route is an important milestone in this journey and reinforces our commitment to scaling sustainable logistics as part of our broader decarbonisation strategy.”
The electric vehicle deployment programme forms part of the company's sustainability roadmap, which focuses on green logistics, decarbonisation and improving operational efficiency. The company aims to reduce emissions across its value chain through cleaner transportation and other sustainability initiatives.
JK Lakshmi Cement has set a long-term ambition of achieving net-zero emissions by 2047. The planned expansion of its EV fleet is intended to support this target by increasing the adoption of electric mobility in its transportation operations.
