Changemakers and Evencargo Partner to Enable One Million Rural Women into Formal Workforce

New Delhi, 16 February, 2026: Changemakers Private Limited and Evencargo, a women-only last-mile e-commerce logistics company, have announced a strategic partnership aimed at placing one million rural women on a formal employment pathway in the logistics sector.

The initiative, described by the organisations as one of the largest rural women’s employability efforts in the country, begins with the launch of the Changemaker-Evencargo Digital & Mobile Skilling for Jobs programme in Tappal, Aligarh, on 14 February 2026. The programme is supported by FLO – FICCI Ladies Organisation.

Tappal became the first location to host the integrated skilling intervention, marking the operational start of the collaboration. The initiative will be delivered through Changemakers’ WOW (Work Opportunity & Wellbeing) Hubs—community-based centres designed to connect rural women with formal employment opportunities. Currently, 45 WOW Hubs are operational, with plans to scale to 100 hubs.

Evencargo’s structured skilling model will be embedded within these hubs under an “Evencargo Inside” framework. The formal rollout of Evencargo’s three-tier programme—Micro, Standard, and Flagship—is scheduled for 8 March 2026, International Women’s Day.

The Micro programme focuses on foundational readiness for first-time job aspirants. The Standard programme provides logistics skill certification and placement support with e-commerce companies. The Flagship programme aims to develop delivery hub anchors and rural micro-entrepreneurs.

The partnership promotes what the organisations describe as BMW—“Becoming a Mobile Worker”—to enable rural women to access mobility, digital tools, and formal employment pathways.

A joint statement from Changemakers Private Limited said, “The WOW Hub is where aspiration meets infrastructure. When Evencargo comes inside, every rural woman who walks through that door has a clear, credentialed path from where she is to where she wants to be. One million is not a target, it is a promise.”

Yogesh Kumar, Founder & CEO, Evencargo, said, “Even Cargo was built on the conviction that a delivery job is a dignity job. The Changemakers WOW network gives us the reach into Bharat’s heartland that makes scaling that conviction possible. The Micro, Standard, and Flagship tiers mean no woman is left without a next step.”

According to available data, India’s Female Labour Force Participation Rate has declined from 35% in 1990 to approximately 21% today, with rural women disproportionately affected. The partnership aims to address structural barriers including limited mobility, skill gaps, geographic constraints, and access to safe employment pathways.

Both organisations state that the initiative aligns with the broader vision of inclusive economic growth under the Viksit Bharat 2047 framework, focusing on measurable and scalable outcomes in rural employability.
