Ahmedabad, January 30, 2024: Pharma major Cadila Pharmaceuticals has initiated a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid training program in partnership with the Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat State branch. Responding to the increasing cases of heart attacks and cardiac arrests, this project aims to provide life-saving skills to 50,000 students in Ahmedabad and Mehsana.

The program kicked off at Adarsh Gyan Sagar School, Kadi, on January 25th, training over 3000 students through practical demonstrations and sessions during the launch. The event witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Mr. Vinodbhai Patel, Chairman of Mehsana District Cooperative Bank; Mr. Dharmesh Shah, Provost of Indrashil University; and Representatives Mr. Nareshbhai and Ms. Manishaben Solanki from the Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat State Branch.

Running until March 2024, this initiative aims to ensure that students in their formative years (classes 9 to 12) are well-equipped to respond effectively in emergencies, potentially saving lives.

Dr. Bharat Champaneria, Trustee at Indrashil Kaka-Ba and Kala Budh Public Charitable Trust, the charitable arm of Cadila Pharmaceuticals, said, “The incidents of heart attack and cardiac arrest have increased alarmingly in the state, posing a threat to the lives irrespective of the age bar. We are aligning our efforts with the government of Gujarat’s objectives and aim for a significant contribution to community well-being. Even if a single life is saved because of this initiative, we will consider it a success. In addition to life-saving skills, students will receive career orientation and guidance through Indrashil University.”
