Mumbai, July 27, 2023. Axis Bank, one of largest private sector banks in India, has set a record and has entered the Asia Book of Records for ‘Clean-A-Thon’, a nation-wide cleanliness drive which was organized in alignment with the World Environment Day 2023. The Asia Book of Records has felicitated the Bank with two titles - "Maximum Water Bodies Cleaned During a Week-Long Cleanliness Drive," and "Maximum Kilograms of Garbage Collected from Water Bodies Across Multiple Cities. The Bank was recognized for its contribution in removing a substantial amount of waste from polluted water bodies, thus making a palpable difference.
During the week-long cleanliness drive, Axis Bank collaborated with 14 NGOs to spearhead this nation-wide initiative. The drive witnessed the participation of over 3,700 enthusiastic volunteers, who rallied together to clean 22 water bodies across 18 cities in India. This collective effort resulted in the collection of 12,794 Kg of waste from these water bodies, making a significant impact on the environment.
