Bengaluru, December 30, 2025: The Rewa Model Farm Project has been inaugurated at Basaman Mama Gaushansh Vanyavihar near Semaria in Rewa district, marking a significant step toward strengthening the adoption of Natural Farming practices in Madhya Pradesh. The initiative is inspired by the vision of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and implemented by Art of Living’s Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Trust (AOL-SSIAST).

The project was inaugurated in the presence of Amit Shah, Mohan Yadav, Rajendra Shukla, and Shri Prasana Prabhu, Chairman of the Sri Sri Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Technology Trust. The inauguration reflected institutional support for Natural Farming as a sustainable and farmer-centric agricultural approach in the state.

Developed in collaboration with Basaman Mama Gaushansh Vanyavihar and the Government of Madhya Pradesh, the Rewa Model Farm has been established as a live demonstration and training centre for Natural Farming. Spread across approximately 2.5 to 3 acres, the farm operates as a fully functional field model, showcasing low-cost and scalable practices suited to small and marginal farmers.

The model farm features integrated systems including multilayer farming, horticulture plots, and medicinal plant cultivation. The multilayer farming approach enables multiple crops to be grown at different levels on the same plot, optimising land use and reducing farming risks through diversification. The project also includes a Bio Input Centre that prepares natural inputs such as Jeevamrut and Ghanajeevamrut using desi cow dung and cow urine, aimed at improving soil health and reducing reliance on chemical fertilisers.

During the inauguration, Chairman Shri Prasana Prabhu explained the various components of the farm and how the Natural Farming systems can be replicated by farmers on their own land. The development of the model farm was completed within a short timeframe through the efforts of AOL-SSIAST volunteers, who were involved in land preparation, plantation, and infrastructure support.

AOL-SSIAST has been working in the field of Natural Farming for over 17 years and has trained more than three million farmers across India. The Rewa Model Farm is intended to serve as a structured training and demonstration hub, enabling farmers to learn through hands-on engagement in soil management, crop planning, natural pest control, and bio-input preparation.

The Rewa Model Farm Project is positioned as a practical and replicable model for promoting sustainable and inclusive agricultural development in Madhya Pradesh and other regions.
