Karnataka, March 05, 2026: Xoriant, a global engineering and technology services company, has launched the SKSVMACET–Xoriant Innovation & Skill Development Center at the Smt. Kamala and Sri Venkappa M. Agadi College of Engineering & Technology (SKSVMACET) campus in Wadeyar Mallapur, Karnataka. The initiative aims to equip students from rural and semi-urban communities with industry-relevant digital skills and practical exposure.
The centre is designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by offering hands-on training, mentorship and innovation-driven learning opportunities. Through this CSR initiative, Xoriant plans to support the skill development of more than 2,000 students.
As an industry partner, Xoriant will provide technical guidance, mentorship and exposure to real-world engineering challenges. The centre will facilitate training programmes focused on digital technologies, live project work, hackathons, coding challenges and innovation initiatives aimed at strengthening students’ practical knowledge and employability.
Students participating in the programme will receive certifications after completing training modules and industry-oriented activities. These certifications are expected to support internship opportunities, improve placement prospects and encourage entrepreneurial ventures.
The initiative also enables Xoriant employees to participate as mentors, offering guidance to aspiring engineers and sharing industry insights. The company said the engagement is intended to foster innovation and strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
Krupa, CHRO, Xoriant, said, “In today’s AI-powered world, skill development is not just about training on technical or soft skills. It is about instilling the joy of engineering where young minds don’t just execute tasks, but create, think, and apply intelligence to solve real problems from the very start of their careers. By bringing Xoriant’s engineering DNA closer to students in rural communities, we are going beyond employability. We are helping shape the next generation of innovators while giving our employees a deeper sense of purpose—something that directly adds to their happiness and engagement.”
Geetha H. Agadi, Vice Chairperson, SKSVMACET, said, “The IT industry is changing faster than ever, driven by AI, cloud, data science, and automation. Education can no longer stay disconnected from industry reality. Our collaboration with Xoriant brings NEP 2020 to life by focusing on skill-based learning and real industry exposure. Further, with Karnataka’s strong push towards innovation, start-ups, and the digital economy, this innovation centre will help students become truly job-ready for the future.”
The SKSVMACET–Xoriant Innovation & Skill Development Center aims to strengthen industry-academia collaboration while expanding opportunities for engineering students from rural backgrounds to develop practical skills aligned with evolving technology sectors.
