WattPower Reaches 4,000 Women with Menstrual Health Initiative in Gujarat and Rajasthan

New Delhi, March 02, 2026: WattPower has completed a menstrual health and hygiene initiative benefiting 4,000 women and adolescent girls across Gujarat and Rajasthan, focusing on awareness, sustainability and long-term community engagement.

The programme was implemented between December 2025 and March 2026 in partnership with SP Seva Sansthan and Baala. It covered underserved communities including slum clusters, semi-urban settlements, labour communities and schools.

The initiative combined structured awareness workshops with the distribution of reusable menstrual hygiene kits designed to last up to two years. The model aimed to support sustained behavioural change, improve menstrual health literacy and reduce long-term costs and environmental impact associated with disposable products.

Interactive sessions addressed hygiene practices and menstrual stigma, while a Training of Trainers (ToT) model was introduced to equip local women and community representatives with knowledge and tools to continue awareness efforts beyond the programme period.

SP Seva Sansthan works in the areas of women’s empowerment, health and education, and Baala focuses on menstrual health awareness and sustainable hygiene management solutions.

Commenting on the initiative, Smriti Agrawal, Director, WattPower Foundation, said, “Creating lasting impact means going beyond business and addressing real needs at the community level. We are committed to supporting menstrual health awareness in underserved areas to enable dignity, knowledge, and confidence among women and girls. For us, responsible progress must translate into meaningful improvements in lives where it matters most.”

WattPower stated that based on the outcomes of this phase, it is assessing opportunities to expand similar menstrual health initiatives to additional regions.
