vivo Ignite 2026 Receives Over 38,000 Registrations from Students Across India

New Delhi, July 29, 2026: vivo India has announced that the fourth edition of its nationwide student innovation programme, vivo Ignite 2026, has received more than 38,000 registrations, making it the largest edition of the initiative since its launch.

According to the company, registrations were received from over 12,000 schools, spanning 705 districts and more than 4,500 cities across all 28 States and 8 Union Territories, including 92 Aspirational Districts. Students from Grades 8 to 12 submitted over 6,100 technology-driven ideas aimed at addressing real-world challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Compared to the previous edition, vivo Ignite expanded its reach from over 9,000 schools in 668 districts to more than 12,000 schools across 705 districts, reflecting increased participation from students nationwide. The programme also recorded a rise in participation from government schools, increasing from 5% in the previous edition to 14% this year.

Among the submissions, Technology, Agriculture & Climate Change emerged as the most popular theme, accounting for 35% of all ideas, while North India contributed nearly 38% of the total idea submissions.

The programme will now move into a multi-stage evaluation process, followed by mentorship and prototype development. The finalists will present their innovations at the National Finale in New Delhi in October 2026. The initiative will also recognise educators through the Teacher Innovation Fellowship, while participants will compete for educational scholarships and rewards worth up to INR 35 lakh.

Supported by IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), the UN Global Compact Network India (UNGC NI) and Grant Thornton as process validator, vivo Ignite aims to encourage innovation and problem-solving among school students.
