New Delhi, July 15, 2026: Vedanta Oil and Gas Limited (VOGL) has announced that its skill development initiatives have reached more than 33,000 youth across its operational regions, supporting employment generation and livelihood opportunities through industry-oriented training programmes.

The company's efforts align with this year's World Youth Skills Day theme, "Skills for a Shared Future," and are implemented through two dedicated training centres—the Cairn Enterprise Centre (CEC) in Barmer and the Cairn Centre of Excellence (CCoE) in Jodhpur.

Established in 2007, the Cairn Enterprise Centre has trained rural youth through a network of one hub and 56 spoke centres, offering courses across 15 sectors and 35 job roles. Training programmes include banking, electrical work, mobile repairing, debt recovery, GST, MIS and employability skills. The initiative also supports government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) with industry-aligned training and placement assistance.

According to the company, the programme has achieved an 85% placement rate and a 70% job retention rate. Women have also been trained in areas such as beauty and wellness, banking, masonry and computer applications to enhance opportunities for both self-employment and formal employment.

Among the beneficiaries is Rameshwari from Mehlu village in Barmer, who completed the Domestic Data Entry course at the Cairn Enterprise Centre before securing employment with Fusion Microfinance, enabling her to support her family. Another participant, Jagdish from Baytu, completed the MIS Data Analyst course and obtained a job with a Chartered Accountant in Barmer after receiving training in advanced Excel and soft skills.

The Cairn Centre of Excellence, established in 2013 in partnership with Agriculture University, Jodhpur, serves as an agri-skill and technical training centre. It supports students enrolled in B.Tech (Agriculture) programmes while also providing vocational training to farmers and rural communities.

The centre conducts livelihood enhancement programmes in women entrepreneurship, sewing, goat rearing, millet cultivation, poultry farming, beekeeping and other income-generating activities aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods.

Vedanta Oil and Gas said its integrated approach to skill development and livelihood generation is designed to improve employability, encourage entrepreneurship and contribute to long-term socio-economic development in the communities where it operates.
