Vashi Parivaar Foundation Launches Tailoring Programme for Army Families
Mumbai | October 8, 2026: Vashi Parivaar Foundation, the CSR arm of Vashi Integrated Solutions Ltd, has launched a Tailoring Skills Development Programme for wives of Indian Army personnel at the Vocational Training Centre under the Colaba Army Unit in Mumbai.
The programme began with a batch of 30 women trainees and will run for six months, followed by a government-recognised examination. It is being implemented in collaboration with Naigaum Social Service Society, the knowledge partner for the initiative, with participation from representatives of the Indian Army and Vashi Parivaar Foundation at the inauguration.
The initiative aims to equip participants with practical tailoring skills that can support employment, self-employment and additional household income. The training is designed to offer women in Army families opportunities to pursue income-generating activities alongside family responsibilities and the mobility often associated with military service.
Registered trainees who successfully complete the programme will receive a passing certificate under the Maharashtra State Vocational Training framework, providing formal recognition of the vocational skills acquired.
Shweta Dodeja, Managing Director, Vashi Parivaar Foundation & CSR Head for Vashi Integrated Solutions Ltd., said, “We feel honoured to serve the army who serve the nation so selflessly. It's a privilege for Vashi Parivaar Foundation to implement this program with Naigaum Social Service Society and contribute in a small way for the people who protect us while we sleep peacefully in our homes.”
The programme is part of Vashi Parivaar Foundation’s broader focus on skill development, women’s empowerment and sustainable livelihoods. Through structured vocational training and formal skill recognition, the Foundation aims to help participants develop capabilities that can support longer-term economic independence.
The initiative also seeks to extend the Foundation’s CSR work beyond immediate assistance by creating opportunities for skill-building and livelihood generation among families of serving Army personnel.
