Bengaluru, October 06, 2025: The Green School Bangalore (TGSB) has been ranked No. 1 in India in the National Green School Ranking 2025 with a perfect score of 100 out of 100. The results were announced by Green Mentors on World Environment Day, recognizing schools across India for excellence in sustainability education and environmental stewardship.

The award was presented at the 9th NYC Green School Conference held at Cornell University’s ILR School, New York, on September 23–24, 2025. The conference coincided with the 80th United Nations General Assembly and Climate Week NYC.

The recognition honors TGSB’s comprehensive sustainability initiatives across eight key pillars, including Green Curriculum, Biodiversity Conservation, Waste and Water Management, Energy Efficiency, Innovation, and Student Engagement.

Ms. Usha Iyer, Founder and Principal of The Green School Bangalore, said, “This award is a proud milestone in our journey of nurturing green leaders of tomorrow. At TGSB, our students and teachers have embraced sustainability as a way of life. It is heartening to see our vision of education for climate action gain global recognition.”

Through this achievement, TGSB reinforces its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 13 – Climate Action) and sets a national benchmark for sustainable education in India.

The National Green School Ranking is led by Green Mentors under the leadership of Mr. Virendra Rawat, a global advocate for sustainable education and climate action.
