Mumbai, April 02, 2026: Temple Connect has partnered with Blueprint Water to introduce eco-friendly packaged drinking water solutions across temple towns, pilgrimage destinations, and major religious festivals in India. The initiative aims to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles in high-footfall sacred spaces.
Temples in India attract millions of devotees ежедневно, making them significant consumption zones where plastic waste generation has become a growing concern. The collaboration seeks to address this challenge by offering sustainable alternatives without affecting access to safe drinking water.
As part of the initiative, Blueprint Water will deploy recyclable, paper-based water packaging to replace conventional plastic bottles. The solution is designed to integrate seamlessly into temple operations and can be scaled from routine daily use to large festival gatherings.
In addition to product deployment, the initiative will focus on encouraging behavioural change among pilgrims. The ‘Eco-Hero’ campaign will promote responsible practices such as using reusable bottles and making environmentally conscious choices. Temples and associated institutions will also receive support for implementation, waste management, and responsible disposal systems.
Commenting on the partnership, Giresh Vasudev Kulkarni, Founder, Temple Connect, said: “Dharma teaches us responsibility—not just towards people, but towards the planet. Our temples have the power to influence millions of lives every day. Through this partnership with Blueprint Water, we are enabling sacred spaces to lead by example by adopting practices that are clean, responsible, and future-ready.”
Anuj Shah, Co-Founder, Blueprint Water, added: “At Blueprint, our focus has always been to make sustainability easy to adopt at scale. Temples are among the largest consumption hubs in the country, and even a small shift here can create a meaningful environmental impact. Our solution is designed to be cost-effective, operationally seamless, and adaptable across formats—from daily temple use to high-footfall festivals. We’re excited to partner with Temple Connect to drive this transition across India’s spiritual ecosystem.”
The rollout will be implemented in phases across selected temple towns and events, with a long-term objective of promoting sustainable water packaging across India’s religious and cultural destinations.
