Mithapur, 4 January 2020: Tata Chemicals Society for Rural Development (TCSRD) has awarded scholarships worth Rs 15 lakh among 550 meritorious students from Okhamandalscholarship distribution programme in Mithapur.
Scholarships under TCSRD’s ‘Siksha Maitri’
programme were awarded by Mr. N. Kamath, Vice President (Manufacturing), Tata
Chemicals in the presence of Shri Pabubha Manek, Hon’ble Member of Legislative
Assembly (M.L.A.), Dwarka & Kalyanpur Block, who graced the occasion as the
Chief Guest.
According to the company officials, the scholarship has been offered to the
students for their various education requirements.Students pursuing their
higher education in technical, professional and medical courses are covered
under this scholarship programme. Also, the beneficiaries also included students
pursuing standard 9th to higher education under the Affirmative Action. A
special scholarship for girls pursuing graduation was also awarded.
A scholarship is an award of financial aid for
students to pursue their further education.

educational programmes across locations, focused on improving the quality of
education and ensuring zero drop-outs of student’s right from pre-primary
level. Scholarships are awarded based upon merit to motivate students for their
higher education and reduce student drop out from their education. TCSRD has
come up with such a scholarship programme to help these children to get an
education," said Mr. N. Kamath, Vice President (Manufacturing), Tata Chemicals.
