Mumbai, September 19, 2025:Tata Motors has released its 11th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, Expanding Circles of Care: Deeper Connections, Lasting Impact, highlighting that its CSR initiatives positively impacted 1.47 million people in FY25, with 56% of beneficiaries belonging to SC/ST communities.
The report outlines how the company’s CSR work has moved from programme implementation to systemic transformation, with a presence in 109 aspirational districts and a focus on scalable, replicable models aligned with both national priorities and local needs.
Commenting on the company’s CSR approach, Vinod Kulkarni, Head CSR at Tata Motors, said, “Expanding our circle of care means bringing those at the margins to the mainstream. From enabling dignified livelihoods to restoring ecosystems, we continue to co-create solutions that are rooted in equity and built for long-term impact. Anchored in our ‘more for less for more’ philosophy, we focus on maximising impact efficiently and extend meaningful benefits to the most underserved by leveraging government schemes.”
Key highlights from FY25 include:
- Water Conservation: Tata Motors restored 356 water bodies across 10 districts in Maharashtra, creating 700 crore litres of additional water capacity. This benefited 7,000 farmers and 2.9 lakh villagers. The company plans to rejuvenate 1,000 water bodies across 25+ districts in FY26.
- Rural Development: The Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP), first launched in 2018, expanded to Shravasti and Balrampur districts in Uttar Pradesh. Aligned with 13 Sustainable Development Goals and 48 government schemes, it has impacted more than 18,000 people in Palghar district, Maharashtra.
- Livelihoods: In Pune, Tata Motors partnered with Kashtakari Panchayat to support 8,000 waste picker families, enrolling 1,814 women in health schemes and providing skilling opportunities. The company also collaborated with Nirmaan NGO to rescue 47 bonded labourers and set up the Kamgar Samman and Suvidha Kendra in Bhosari, benefiting 12,000 migrant workers.
- Workplace Inclusion: In FY25, 141 Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and 17 transgender individuals were onboarded across Tata Motors plants, supported by inclusive policies and training programmes.
- Education: Under the ENABLE programme, more than 19,000 students received competitive exam coaching, with 28% of 8,000 JEE Mains candidates qualifying. In Mumbai, remedial coaching in 69 BMC schools led to a 96% SSC pass rate, higher than the city average.
- Nutrition: Through Project Aarogyasampanna, over 1,000 children in Trombay slums were screened, leading to a 90% decline in severe and moderate malnutrition. The initiative also focused on nutritional education and health libraries.
- Employee Volunteering: More than 19,000 employees contributed over 2 lakh volunteer hours toward health drives, environmental campaigns, disaster management, and other social causes.
Tata Motors stated it will continue to strengthen its CSR strategy with a partnership-driven and data-led approach to promote inclusive growth, community resilience, and systemic reform.
