New Delhi, 22nd August 2025: Taj Mahal, New Delhi, in collaboration with Chhanv Foundation, has launched a hospitality skilling programme for acid attack survivors under Paathya, Indian Hotels Company’s (IHCL) ESG++ framework. The initiative aims to support the launch of Sheroes Café in Delhi, focusing on economic empowerment, professional readiness, and social inclusion.
The programme began with a familiarisation tour of the hotel, giving participants exposure to both front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Survivors observed guest interactions at the reception and gained insights into culinary and housekeeping functions. The structured training curriculum included modules on Indian, Chinese, and bakery production, beverage and mocktail preparation, front office operations, grooming, and personality development. Training was facilitated by Taj Mahal’s Learning & Development team. Sensitisation sessions for associates and assigned buddies were also held to foster an inclusive environment.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Dr. Anmol Ahluwalia, Area Director – Operations and General Manager – Taj Mahal, New Delhi, said, “At Taj Mahal, New Delhi, hospitality extends beyond creating exceptional guest experiences. It is equally about shaping opportunities that can redefine lives. Through Paathya, we are committed to empowering communities by nurturing skill, building confidence, and celebrating resilience. Our association with Chhanv Foundation instils our belief that potential knows no bounds when met with the right platform and encouragement.”
The programme concluded with a certification ceremony that marked both professional readiness and renewed confidence among the participants. By equipping survivors with skills and pathways to dignified livelihoods, the initiative reinforces IHCL’s commitment to inclusive growth.
Guided by its diversity and inclusion philosophy She Remains the Taj, IHCL continues to work toward increasing women’s workforce representation, enhancing travel experiences for women, and supporting women-led enterprises.
The partnership between Taj Mahal, New Delhi and Chhanv Foundation reflects IHCL’s focus on community upliftment through skill development and inclusion, creating sustainable impact under the Paathya framework.
