Samsung India Launches Disaster Relief & Care Program in Punjab

Gurugram,  September 16, 2025: Samsung India has launched its dedicated Disaster Relief & Care Program in Punjab to support customers and communities affected by recent floods. The initiative aims to provide essential household services in disaster-hit regions through care camps equipped with basic appliances and emergency kits.

In Gurdaspur, where floods have disrupted lives, Samsung has already begun receiving service requests for water-submerged smartphones, washing machines, and refrigerators. Customer service teams have been deployed on-ground to assist families dependent on these appliances.

To raise awareness, Samsung has set up posters at authorized service centers, banners on Samsung Members, organic social media posts, and local announcement vehicles across affected villages in Punjab.

Apart from Punjab, Samsung has pre-positioned large tents and relief kits at four major locations — Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai — to ensure readiness for future emergencies. These mobile care centers are equipped with washing machines for clothes, refrigerators for safe food and medicine storage, microwave ovens for hot meals, and water tanks with pumps and generators for drinking water access. Camps also provide chairs, drying racks, soaps, detergents, and safety kits for both staff and customers.

Samsung noted that in the aftermath of disasters, service calls often rise by up to 30% due to damaged appliances. Guided by field-level customer feedback, the company’s service teams mobilize quickly to deliver support.

“Disasters may break homes, but they do not break Samsung’s commitment to customers, partners, and the wider community,” the company stated in the release.

Samsung highlighted its history of community support, from Valley of Hope in Srinagar (2014) to Care for Kerala (2018) and Care for Maharashtra (2019), along with relief efforts in Nepal and Sri Lanka. The company said the new Disaster Relief & Care Program reinforces its broader philosophy of ensuring innovation remains in service of humanity.
