New Delhi, April 06, 2026: Samsung has certified 1,000 students in Maharashtra under its flagship CSR initiative, Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC), marking its first large-scale skilling programme in the state focused on future technologies.

The initiative aims to strengthen the digital skilling ecosystem by equipping students with industry-relevant capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Coding & Programming. The programme covered students from leading institutions, including Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pimpri Chinchwad University, D. Y. Patil University’s Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, and Anjuman-I-Islam’s Kalsekar Technical Campus.

In total, 127 students from Savitribai Phule Pune University, 373 from Pimpri Chinchwad University, 250 from D. Y. Patil University, and 250 from Kalsekar Technical Campus completed the training. The curriculum combined technical learning with hands-on projects to address real-world challenges.

In addition to technical skills, the programme integrated soft skills and career readiness modules, focusing on communication, problem-solving, and workplace preparedness. This approach aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.

Shubham Mukherjee, Head, CSR & Corporate Communications, Samsung Southwest Asia, said, "India's digital growth story will ultimately be shaped by the quality of its talent pipeline. As technologies like Al move from the periphery to the core of industries, skilling must evolve from basic training to building real world capability. At Samsung, we see programmes like Innovation Campus not just as education initiatives but as platforms to bridge this gap-combining deep tech learning with employability and problem-solving skills. This milestone in Maharashtra reflects how industry and academia can come together to create a future-ready workforce that is both globally competitive and locally relevant."

Launched in India in 2022, Samsung Innovation Campus focuses on expanding access to future-tech education through a blend of classroom learning, mentorship, and project-based training. The programme has scaled rapidly, achieving its target of training 20,000 youth across India in 2025.

Nationally, the initiative has recorded 48% women participation, reflecting Samsung’s emphasis on inclusivity in the technology ecosystem. The programme is implemented in collaboration with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) and the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC).

Through initiatives such as Samsung Innovation Campus, Samsung continues to contribute to India’s skilling ecosystem by preparing youth for emerging roles in a technology-driven economy.
