RSPL Group Expands CSR Initiatives Across Coastal Gujarat

Gujarat, October 27, 2026: RSPL Group’s Soda Ash business has continued its community development initiatives in coastal Gujarat through investments in education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability and village infrastructure. The company’s CSR programmes, which began in 2015, focus on improving access to essential services, strengthening livelihoods and supporting local development priorities.

The initiatives are designed to complement the development priorities of the Government of Gujarat and the Government of India, while aligning with broader goals such as Viksit Bharat 2047, the National Education Policy 2020, Digital India, Skill India and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Education and employability form a key part of the company’s CSR efforts. According to RSPL Group, its education initiatives have reached more than 25,000 students across 35 government schools in 12 villages. Activities include improvements to school infrastructure, child-friendly classrooms, access to drinking water and sanitation facilities, and the distribution of notebooks, school bags and other learning materials.

Through its ‘Prerna’ initiative, the organisation recognises students who secure first, second and third ranks in their school examinations. The programme aims to encourage academic performance, regular attendance, continued education and girls’ education, while helping reduce school dropout rates. The RSPL Welfare Foundation also operates the Laxmi Devi Dayal Das Academy (LDA), an English-medium school up to Class 10, which provides education alongside sports and extracurricular activities.

Women’s empowerment is another focus area. The RSPL Welfare Foundation conducts certificate-based computer training programmes to improve digital literacy and employability among girls and women. More than 70 participants have benefited from the training. The foundation also supports promising athletes with training, nutrition and travel expenses, including national-level volleyball player Hetal Ben.

Healthcare initiatives include a 24-hour Occupational Health Centre (OHC) that provides free primary healthcare to residents of villages surrounding the Kuranga Soda Ash plant. The centre benefited more than 6,750 patients in FY2025–26. In collaboration with Madhav Hospital, the company has also organised free health check-up camps across 12 villages, reaching approximately 7,000 beneficiaries since 2022.

The organisation has additionally supported healthcare infrastructure through the installation of a 9-kilolitre oxygen tank and the donation of a mini ambulance and an ICU on Wheels. RSPL Ltd. received a Certificate of Appreciation at the Gujarat First Health Conclave 2026 for its contributions.

Community infrastructure projects include the construction of community halls in Gojines and Batdiya villages. These facilities serve as venues for social, cultural and community activities and are accessible to residents of surrounding areas.

Environmental sustainability initiatives have included mangrove plantation across 50 hectares in the Hasot block of Bharuch district, undertaken in partnership with local communities and the Gujarat Ecology Commission. Under the Mission Amrit Sarovar initiative, RSPL has also supported pond rejuvenation and beautification in Kuranga, Gokalpar, Bamnasa, Navadra and Bhatiya. The work includes cleaning, land levelling, solar lighting, seating and improved pathways. The company has also supported public and household toilet construction to improve sanitation and hygiene.

Speaking about the organisation’s approach, Mr. Tinku Chhabra, CEO, RSPL – Soda Ash Business, said, “At RSPL Limited, we believe that sustainable industrial growth must go hand in hand with community development. Our CSR initiatives are designed not only to address the aspirations of local communities but also to complement the development priorities of the Government of Gujarat and the Government of India. Through sustained investments in education, digital literacy, skills, healthcare and community infrastructure, we are committed to creating lasting social value while contributing to Gujarat's continued growth as one of India's leading industrial and economic hubs. As India progresses towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, we remain committed to being a responsible corporate citizen and a long-term development partner for the communities we serve.”

Alongside its CSR programmes, RSPL Group’s industrial operations contribute to local employment, supply chains and regional economic activity. The company’s approach combines industrial operations with community-focused investments intended to support the long-term social and economic development of coastal Gujarat.
