Pune, December 24, 2025: RSB Group has released its first Sustainability Report, marking over five decades of engineering and manufacturing operations and outlining its long-term commitment to responsible growth and operational efficiency. The report sets out a five-year decarbonisation roadmap with clear targets for 2030, including 50 percent renewable energy adoption and a 45 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions intensity.
According to the report, RSB Group has achieved a 16 percent reduction in energy intensity over the last three years, alongside a 17 percent reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions intensity compared to FY2022–23. Total energy consumption declined by around five percent during this period, while Scope 1 emissions recorded a reduction of nearly 25 percent. The group reported total Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions of 48,137 tCO₂e, with emissions intensity improving to 0.27 tCO₂e per tonne.
R. K. Behera, Chairman, RSB Group, said, “Our sustainability journey is rooted in measurable actions on the factory floor. These efforts focus on improving energy use, lowering emissions, and managing water and waste responsibly. At its core, this journey is guided by our 4P framework of Purpose, People, Process, and Planet, which shapes how we design, manufacture, and deliver across our operations. The progress reflected in this report demonstrates how operational discipline, an efficient workforce and clear targets translate into meaningful outcomes. These principles are fundamental to building a sustainable and competitive manufacturing footprint for the future.”
The report also highlights progress in water and waste management. Water consumption intensity improved by around four percent year-on-year in FY2024–25 through process-level efficiency initiatives, while approximately 97 percent of total waste generated across operations was diverted from landfill, reflecting strong circularity practices.
S. K. Behera, Vice Chairman, RSB Group, added, “At RSB, sustainability is not a parallel initiative; it is embedded across the entire value chain, from product design and engineering to manufacturing, logistics, and delivery. Every process decision is evaluated through the lens of efficiency, responsibility, and long-term impact. This commitment is foundational to how we operate today and will continue to guide us as we build future-ready, sustainable manufacturing systems.”
Beyond environmental performance, the Sustainability Report outlines the group’s focus on employee safety, workforce skill development, and community engagement. Social initiatives are implemented through the RSB Foundation, covering education, healthcare, livelihoods, and environmental stewardship across multiple regions.
Aligned with SEBI’s Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) requirements and GRI standards, the report underscores RSB Group’s emphasis on governance, data-driven performance tracking, and the integration of sustainability considerations into its manufacturing operations.
