New Delhi, December 2, 2025: Routematic, an AI-enabled corporate commute automation and fleet management platform serving more than 300 enterprises, announced that it has reduced 8,348 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in 2025 across India’s major corporate hubs. The milestone, shared on National Pollution Control Day, highlights the role of AI-driven routing, shared mobility and electric vehicle adoption in lowering urban emissions and supporting corporate ESG goals.
The highest reductions were recorded in Delhi-NCR (2,174.9 tonnes), followed by Hyderabad (2,007 tonnes), Pune (1,914.5 tonnes), Bengaluru (1,650.8 tonnes), Chennai (494.2 tonnes) and Mumbai (107.2 tonnes). Together, these savings are equivalent to planting over 375,000 trees or eliminating emissions from more than 1,800 cars annually.
Routematic facilitates more than 3.5 lakh daily employee rides across IT/ITeS, GCCs, BFSI and new-age enterprises, making it one of India’s largest employee transportation networks. The announcement comes at a time when major cities continue to face severe air pollution challenges. Transport contributes nearly 14% of India’s CO₂ emissions, with road transport accounting for the majority.
With employee commuting forming a significant share of daily vehicular movement in metros, enterprises are increasingly adopting technology-led mobility solutions that reduce carbon footprints while maintaining safety and reliability for employees.
Sriram Kannan, Founder & CEO of Routematic, said, “Employee commute is one of India’s most overlooked contributors to urban air pollution, and it must become a central pillar of the country’s pollution-control strategy. Our data shows that when artificial intelligence, electric vehicles and shared mobility work in tandem, corporates can deliver measurable climate impact while offering safe and reliable commutes to their employees. This milestone reinforces our commitment to supporting corporate India in its sustainability journey and accelerating the country’s progress toward net-zero.”
The milestone follows Routematic’s expansion this year after raising USD 40 million in Series C funding led by climate-focused investors Fullerton Carbon Action Fund and Shift4Good. The investment is supporting the scaling of its EV fleet, AI-driven optimisation systems and 24x7 Operations Command Centres, along with efforts to strengthen its driver ecosystem, including the employment of more women drivers.
