The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has appointed Rajneesh Jain, President and Chief Financial Officer of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, as the Chair of the FICCI CFO Council, marking a significant leadership addition to one of India’s most influential industry platforms.
In his new role, Jain will lead FICCI’s dedicated forum for senior finance leaders, shaping conversations around emerging financial challenges, regulatory developments, and strategic priorities facing the Indian industry. He will also join FICCI’s National Executive Committee, enabling him to contribute to broader policy discussions and national-level industry deliberations.
Nearly Four Decades of Leadership Across India’s Corporate Landscape
Rajneesh Jain brings close to four decades of experience spanning financial management, corporate strategy, and business operations across some of India’s most prominent industrial and infrastructure organisations. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership positions at Reliance Communications, Ispat Industries Limited, Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited, and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), gaining deep exposure to diverse sectors including telecommunications, manufacturing, energy, and heavy engineering.
Currently serving as President and CFO of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, a key company within Reliance Industries Limited, Jain plays a central role in financial stewardship, capital allocation, and long-term strategic planning at one of India’s largest and most transformative digital enterprises. His experience navigating complex business environments and large-scale operations positions him well to guide CFO-led discussions across industries.
Academic Foundation and Vision for the CFO Council
With a firm academic grounding in commerce and finance, Rajneesh Jain’s professional journey reflects a balance of technical expertise and strategic leadership. His educational background, combined with extensive boardroom experience, has enabled him to approach finance not merely as a control function but as a driver of growth, resilience, and value creation.
As Chair of the FICCI CFO Council, Jain is expected to steer the council’s agenda toward enhancing the strategic role of chief financial officers in corporate governance, risk management, sustainability, and long-term organisational performance. He will also work closely with finance leaders across sectors to strengthen collaboration, share best practices, and ensure that CFO perspectives play a meaningful role in shaping India’s evolving economic and regulatory landscape.
