New Delhi, August 06, 2025: Relaxo Footwears Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand, to launch Phase 5 of its Parivartan Model School Project. This latest phase will extend the company’s school transformation efforts to 24 additional government schools—10 in Dehradun and 14 in Haridwar—under its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The agreement was formalized at a state-level event titled “Building Future-Ready Schools through CSR” at Raj Bhawan Auditorium in Dehradun. The event was attended by the Hon’ble Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Mr. Gurmit Singh, Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami, Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, and other senior government officials. Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati, Director of Secondary Education, and Mr. Gambhir Agrawal, Head – CSR at Relaxo, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.

Relaxo’s Parivartan initiative, launched in 2018, has already revitalized 104 government schools in the Khanpur and Laksar blocks of Haridwar. With this new phase, the total number of schools supported under the project will reach 128, benefiting over 10,000 children, particularly from rural and underserved communities.

Mr. Sushil Batra, Executive Director of Relaxo Footwears Ltd., stated, “At Relaxo, we believe that the foundation of a brighter India lies in accessible and equitable education. Our vision is to enable every child in a government school to experience learning with dignity, safety, and joy. We are proud to partner with the Government of Uttarakhand and further extend our Parivartan journey to more schools, more students, and more futures.”

The Parivartan Project focuses on improving school infrastructure, providing inclusive learning materials, and implementing gender-sensitive programs. It also emphasizes community participation through School Management Committees, parents, and local stakeholders to ensure long-term impact and sustainability.

Speaking about the project, Mr. Gambhir Agrawal, CSR Head at Relaxo Footwears Ltd., said, “Our long-term focus is on education and community development. We believe that CSR is about sustained engagement, trust, and the will to uplift. We’ll continue to lay the groundwork for consistent, positive change in education through Parivartan.”

The event served as a platform for the Education Department to highlight meaningful CSR interventions by corporates. Relaxo’s Parivartan Project was featured as a model of impactful, community-driven school transformation.
