Mumbai, September 16, 2025: Rajvir Sehgal, a Grade 12 student at Hill Spring International School, Mumbai, has launched TransComm, an e-commerce platform dedicated to supporting transgender artisans. The initiative provides digital storefronts, secure payments, and greater visibility to creators often excluded from mainstream marketplaces.

The launch event featured a felicitation ceremony led by Neeta Kene, President of Kinnar Asmita Sanstha, who acknowledged Sehgal’s efforts in building sustainable economic opportunities for the transgender community.

“TransComm is not just about selling products. It’s about breaking barriers in how transgender talent is seen, valued, and supported in the global market,” said Rajvir during the launch.

This marks Sehgal’s third initiative focused on the transgender community. His earlier projects include TransEstate, which raised funds to redevelop a shelter for over 40 residents of a Hijra gharana in Mumbai, and TransLoans, a microcredit model developed with financial institutions to provide seed capital for small transgender-led ventures.

The new platform is onboarding artisans in categories such as textiles, crafts, and home goods, with plans to expand nationally and internationally in the coming months. Community leaders have welcomed the initiative as a step toward long-term financial independence and social inclusion.

For Sehgal, these projects—safe housing, financial access, and now livelihood opportunities through ntrepreneurship—represent connected efforts toward systemic inclusion for the transgender community.
