Noida, July 14, 2025: To commemorate the 80th Founder’s Day of the MBD Group, Radisson Blu MBD Hotel Noida launched a new CSR initiative titled Ashok Karya, in honour of its founder Shri Ashok Kumar Malhotra. The initiative, introduced on his birthday, is designed as a long-term social impact movement anchored in the values of empathy, empowerment, and inclusion.
Described as more than a program, Ashok Karya aims to reflect Shri Malhotra’s belief that businesses must serve society. The initiative is encapsulated by its tagline “Main Bhi Ashok”, written in Devanagari script, inviting individuals to lead with compassion and shared responsibility.
The launch event featured a tribute to Shri Malhotra’s legacy and was attended by family, dignitaries, and partners. Mrs. Satish Bala Malhotra, Chairperson of MBD Group and wife of the late founder, led the lamp-lighting ceremony. The event also showcased an art exhibition featuring over 50 paintings created by neurodiverse children in collaboration with the Arts and Souls Foundation. The artworks, many of which were sold or reserved in advance, highlighted the children’s creativity and resilience.
“Ashok Karya is not just a tribute; it’s a shared responsibility, a platform to amplify voices that need to be heard, and to honour the values that built this institution,” said Ms. Monica Malhotra Kandhari, Managing Director, MBD Group.
“We hope this initiative inspires not just our guests and partners but society at large to embrace a more compassionate form of leadership; one that balances profit with purpose,” added Ms. Sonica Malhotra Kandhari, Joint Managing Director, MBD Group.
The event was attended by dignitaries including Ms. Vimla Bitham, former MLA and Chairperson, UP Women’s Commission; Shri S.S. Chahar, former Additional Director General, BSF; and Mr. Saurbh Singh, Director, Appinventiv.
Since its inception, Ashok Karya has supported a range of activities including tree plantation drives, book donations to under-resourced schools, curated movie outings and meals for children from underserved communities, and celebrations with senior citizens in old-age homes.
Among upcoming plans under the initiative is School on Wheels, a mobile unit aimed at delivering educational resources to children in remote regions. Ashok Karya now stands as a core element of MBD Group’s social responsibility framework.
