New Delhi, October 16, 2026: PwC India has launched the Aspiring Women Leaders Scholarship to support female students pursuing engineering degrees and help develop the next generation of women leaders in technology. The initiative aims to address the underrepresentation of women in the technology workforce by expanding access to education, skills development and career opportunities.

The scholarship will initially be open to eligible students entering the second year of Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programmes at participating institutions. These include the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and other empanelled institutes.

The programme will support selected students for the remainder of their degree courses. PwC India plans to expand the initiative in subsequent years to include first-year students, extending support earlier in their academic journey. It also aims to reach women from modest economic backgrounds.

“India’s future depends on giving every young person the opportunity to realise their potential. We believe that creating more equitable pathways for women in technology is an important part of that future. Through the Aspiring Women Leaders Scholarship, we are doing our part to open doors for women by supporting their education, skills and career journeys. Our hope is that these opportunities will help nurture a generation of talented women leaders who will shape India’s growth and create a more inclusive future,” said Sanjeev Krishan, Chairperson, PwC in India.

The scholarship will cover the full academic fees of selected students and provide state-of-the-art laptops. Recipients will also have access to mentorship opportunities, technical workshops, voluntary internships and pre-placement opportunities with PwC India, where eligible.

Candidates will be selected through a multi-stage process comprising eligibility screening, an online assessment and panel interviews. The interview committee will include PwC India leaders and external experts, with final selections made in consultation with the participating institutes.

Vivek Prasad, Chief People Officer, PwC India, added, “We believe empowering women in technology is key to driving innovation and growth in India’s digital future. This scholarship exemplifies our ‘skills-first’ approach to talent development and our commitment to building a strong pipeline of women leaders.”

The initiative is aligned with PwC India’s Vision 2030, which focuses on enabling young people and supporting the development of a skilled, future-ready workforce as part of the broader goal of building a Viksit Bharat.
