Bengaluru, October 24, 2025: Prestige Group, one of India’s leading real estate developers, has announced the adoption of two male tiger cubs, Simba and Sheru, at Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP). The Group will support the cubs’ care for the next five years, reinforcing its commitment to wildlife conservation, ecological balance, and biodiversity protection.
The adoption will cover the cubs’ nutrition, veterinary care, habitat enrichment, and educational outreach programs, ensuring their well-being in a structured environment. The initiative also forms part of Prestige Group’s broader environmental stewardship efforts, extending its sustainability commitments beyond construction into species conservation.
Nirbhay Lumde, Senior Vice President (ESG & Sustainability), Prestige Group, said, “Our responsibility to the environment begins with what we build and extends to how we nurture the world around us. With Simba and Sheru, we aim to raise awareness of coexistence and strengthen collective efforts to protect natural heritage. This adoption is symbolic of how every small step can strengthen our collective commitment to conservation.”
A V Surya Sen, IFS, Deputy Conservator of Forests & Executive Director, Bannerghatta Biological Park, expressed appreciation for Prestige Group’s support, stating, “We are deeply grateful to Prestige Estates Projects Limited for their support in adopting and naming Simba and Sheru. Together, we invite every individual to become part of the BBP family and contribute to wildlife protection.”
Bannerghatta Biological Park has been playing a key role in conservation education, species rehabilitation, and public engagement. Prestige Group’s collaboration is expected to strengthen these efforts, with a focus on awareness initiatives involving schoolchildren, local communities, and park visitors to promote coexistence and biodiversity care.
The tiger adoption aligns with Prestige’s broader sustainability vision, which includes native tree plantation drives, lake rejuvenation projects, and urban park maintenance. By combining environmentally responsible design and wildlife conservation, the company seeks to promote a holistic approach to sustainability.
Through this initiative, Prestige Group aims to contribute meaningfully to national wildlife protection efforts and exemplify corporate responsibility towards environmental conservation. As Simba and Sheru grow, the partnership between Prestige and BBP will serve as a reminder of how development and nature can coexist harmoniously.
