New Delhi, December 04, 2025: Punjab National Bank (PNB) marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwD) by launching its new Braille Credit Card aimed at enhancing accessibility for visually impaired customers. The event, held at the bank’s Corporate Office in New Delhi on December 3, aligned with the global theme, “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Society for advancing social progress.”
The occasion was attended by PNB MD & CEO Shri Ashok Chandra, Chief Guest Shri Munna Khalid, International Para-Badminton Player and PhD Scholar, CVO Shri Raghvendra Kumar, and senior bank officials.
The launch of the Braille Credit Card marks a significant step in PNB’s efforts to expand inclusive banking services. The bank also sponsored the Deaf Sports Association of Delhi for the 7th Delhi State Games and extended CSR support to The New Learning Heights Special School & Remedial Center. Several specially-abled employees were felicitated for their contributions as part of PNB’s ongoing initiatives to support inclusive workplace practices.
Shri Ashok Chandra highlighted the resilience and achievements of persons with disabilities. Citing the journeys of individuals such as Shri Munna Khalid, National Martial Arts champion Akshay Patel, and mountaineer Arunima Sinha, he said, “This day serves as a reminder that what we have is enough to excel, contribute, and make life and society more beautiful.” He also announced PNB’s sponsorship of Shri Khalid’s participation in the BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2026 in Bahrain.
In his remarks, CVO Shri Raghvendra Kumar emphasised the need for systemic change, saying, “True inclusion requires a fundamental shift in mindset and systems. When we invest in inclusion, everyone benefits. Inclusive workplaces are more innovative and profitable.”
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to promoting accessibility and empowerment through initiatives such as employee-friendly policies, CSR interventions and tools like the Braille Credit Card. PNB stated that it remains focused on creating a workplace and service environment where every individual is valued and given equal opportunity to succeed.
