Thailand, December 22, 2025: OPPO has completed the donation of 1,000 tablets across five countries in Asia and Africa as part of a collaborative initiative with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and children’s programming education brand CODEMAO. The initiative is aimed at advancing educational equity and strengthening digital inclusion in emerging economies.
The tablet donation follows OPPO’s pledge announced in September 2024 and covers schools in Thailand, Congo Brazzaville, Kenya, Namibia, and Côte d’Ivoire. The programme aligns with OPPO’s stated mission of “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World,” leveraging digital tools to expand access to technology-enabled learning.
As part of the Thailand phase, OPPO donated 200 tablets to two pilot institutions—Lampang Kanlayanee School and Rayongwittayakom School—during the Thailand AI and Digital Innovation Practice Day held on December 15. The devices are being used by teachers and students to support programming education and hands-on digital learning.
The tablets are preloaded with courses from the Youth Coding Initiative, a joint programme by UNESCO and CODEMAO designed to promote inclusive, safe, and equitable access to technology education for young learners in Asia and Africa. The curriculum focuses on foundational programming skills and responsible technology use.
Beyond Thailand, the initiative is expected to support sustainable technology education in Congo Brazzaville by strengthening teaching capabilities in emerging technologies and enabling peer learning and coding competitions. In Kenya, Namibia, and Côte d’Ivoire, where access to digital infrastructure remains limited, the tablet donations are intended to help establish new digital classrooms and improve access to quality technology-based education.
Through this collaboration, OPPO aims to contribute to youth empowerment by addressing hardware gaps and supporting digital literacy initiatives in underserved regions. The company stated that it will continue to integrate technology-led solutions into its corporate social responsibility efforts, with a focus on long-term educational and social impact.
