Agra, March 18, 2026: NIIT Foundation, in partnership with Mahindra Finance, organised a special event titled “Celebrating Financial Literacy Milestone & Inspiring a Movement” under its flagship CSR initiative Dhan Samvaad, highlighting the programme’s growing impact on financial inclusion across communities.
Launched in FY2024, the Dhan Samvaad programme focuses on empowering gig workers, self-employed individuals and small business owners with financial literacy and digital skills. To date, the initiative has directly benefited over 4.95 lakh individuals across 40 districts in eight states, helping them engage more confidently with formal financial systems.
In Uttar Pradesh, NIIT Foundation has been implementing the programme across districts including Agra, Mathura, Budaun, Basti and Lucknow, reaching approximately 84,250 beneficiaries over the past two years. A key outcome has been the activation of over 66,225 DigiLocker accounts, enabling participants to securely store essential documents such as Aadhaar, PAN and driving licences.
The programme has also facilitated access to several government welfare schemes, including Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, E-Shram, Atal Pension Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, supporting long-term financial security and social protection.
The Agra event brought together programme stakeholders, beneficiaries and partners to review progress and share insights on strengthening financial literacy and digital inclusion. Presentations highlighted key achievements, outreach and on-ground impact across programme locations.
Beneficiaries also shared their experiences, explaining how the training improved their financial decision-making, digital awareness and access to opportunities. The event included a certificate distribution ceremony, along with the distribution of personal hygiene kits to participants.
Speaking at the event, Vikram Kumar, National Head – Partnerships & Communication, NIIT Foundation, said, “Financial literacy is a critical enabler for economic empowerment and long-term financial stability.
