New Delhi, November 21, 2023: NIIT Foundation, in collaboration with DXC Technology, has acknowledged the achievements of the Global Service Desk Program for New Graduates. Launched in September 2021 as part of DXC's Corporate Social Responsibility commitment, this initiative aims to equip young graduates with essential skills, enhance employability prospects, and support their development as proficient Global Service Desk Specialists.
The Certificate Program on Global Service Desk, designed for recent graduates and those in their final year of studies, seeks to facilitate skill development, offer placement assistance, strengthen professional and soft skills, and promote financial independence among youth. In acknowledgment of the growing demand for skilled service desk professionals in the IT and ITES sectors, DXC Technology took the lead in preparing a capable workforce.
The program aimed to enrol 7000 young individuals and was executed in two phases. DXC Technology approved the enrolment of 3000 students in the initial phase, followed by an additional 4090 in the second phase. NIIT Foundation strategically employed various outreach tactics, including leveraging social media, local newspaper advertisements, engaging academic institutions, community mobilization, and student referrals.
Hailing from 28 states across India, the enrolled youth showcased significant diversity. The top three states with the highest enrolment numbers were Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. This year, the program aims to enrol 4090 youths from across India in Global Service Desk, Digital Marketing, and Certificate Course in Hardware & Networking. The enrolment process commenced in July 2023, with over 900 students already enrolled from different states.
