NeoGrowth Expands ‘NeoShakti’ CSR Initiative to Strengthen Women’s Livelihoods and Skills

New Delhi, March 25, 2026: NeoGrowth, a fintech NBFC, has strengthened its community engagement efforts in FY’26 through NeoShakti, its flagship CSR initiative focused on women’s economic empowerment through livelihood creation and skill development.

Now in its second year, the initiative has shifted towards deeper on-ground engagement with a focus on long-term, outcome-driven interventions. NeoShakti operates across two key pillars—livelihood and community development, and employment-linked skill development—in partnership with Goonj and Times Employ India Foundation.

Under the livelihood and community development component, NeoGrowth facilitated the collection of 110 tonnes of urban surplus materials through awareness drives. Around 36,000 kilograms of this material were processed by 33 women beneficiaries into over 72,500 utility products. The initiative contributed to income generation while supporting environmental outcomes, including the conservation of approximately 360 million litres of water and the reduction of around 46,800 kg of CO₂ emissions.

Women-led community development activities under the programme also supported infrastructure improvements such as canals, kitchen gardens, and water pathways. These interventions benefited around 1,500 families, who also received essential kits comprising clothing, hygiene products, utensils, and other repurposed materials.

In parallel, the skill development pillar trained 170 women during FY’26, taking the total number of beneficiaries to over 300 in the last two years. The training programmes, implemented with Times Employ India Foundation, covered retail and Business Correspondent roles, including counselling, classroom sessions, assessments, certification, and placement support.

To enhance job readiness, participants were provided hands-on industry exposure and expert-led sessions covering workplace practices, digital tools, customer engagement, and financial processes. The programme reported an 80% placement rate among participants following completion.

The initiative concluded its annual skilling activities with a certificate distribution ceremony held in Mumbai in February 2026, marking the transition of participants into livelihood opportunities.

Commenting on the initiative, Arun Nayyar, MD and CEO, NeoGrowth, said, “FY’26 marked a year of deeper engagement for NeoShakti. By integrating livelihood creation, skill development, and employee participation, we are focused on creating holistic outcomes that support long-term resilience, inclusion, and opportunity.”

NeoGrowth stated that employee volunteering remains an integral part of its CSR approach, with teams actively participating in community initiatives beyond core partnerships.

The company plans to further expand NeoShakti through sustained, community-driven interventions aligned with broader goals of inclusive growth and women’s empowerment.
