Rajasthan, July 05, 2025: Motilal Oswal Foundation has announced a ₹100 crore investment over five years to support education, skill development, and sustainable livelihoods in Balotra and nearby areas of Rajasthan. The initiative was formally launched at a ceremony attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma and Sikkim Governor Shri Om Prakash Mathur.

The rural development program is expected to directly impact over 1 lakh children, 5,000 youth, and 25,000 farmers, while also generating around 400 local jobs. It reflects the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to high-impact philanthropy rooted in the philosophy of "Learn, Earn & Return."

At the core of the initiative is the establishment of the Ansidevi Gopilal Oswal Kaushal Evam Krushi Vikas Sansthan, a skill and agricultural development center spread over 87 beeghas. The center will provide vocational training, agri-tech education, and digital skills to support local youth and farmers in building sustainable livelihoods.

“We have always believed in Learn, Earn & Return. Acquire knowledge, utilise it to build wealth, and then use that wealth to create a lasting impact. Balotra and Rajasthan gave me my beginnings, and it has been a moment of great fulfilment to return with something tangible and lasting,” said Shri Motilal Oswal, Chairman, Motilal Oswal Foundation.

Co-founder Shri Raamdeo Agrawal added, “Philanthropy is the purest form of investment—in people, in futures, in India.”

The initiative will be implemented in partnership with four leading civil society organizations—Rocket Learning, Educate Girls, Muskaan Dreams, and Lighthouse Communities Foundation—leveraging their experience to ensure scalable and sustainable impact.

The Foundation has already contributed over ₹800 crore to developmental causes in education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural empowerment. Its legacy includes major philanthropic contributions such as ₹130 crore to IIT Bombay, ₹115 crore to Rajasthan Vidyarthi Griha, and ₹100 crore to the Indian School of Business.

Since its inception, Motilal Oswal Foundation has educated more than 1 lakh students, supported 50,000 farmers, and enabled 10,000 youth and persons with disabilities. With the Balotra initiative, the Foundation aims to further its contribution toward the national vision of Viksit Bharat.
