Palghar, Maharashtra, October 2026: Mirae Asset Foundation, the CSR arm of Mirae Asset in India, has inaugurated a school transformation project at Thakkar Bappa School in Talasari, Palghar, Maharashtra, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Borivali East. The project aims to improve educational infrastructure and learning conditions for nearly 1,200 students from tribal communities.
The project was inaugurated by Mr. Moon Kyung Kang, Chief Executive Officer, Mirae Asset Sharekhan and Mirae Asset Capital Markets, in the presence of Hon'ble Dr. Mrs. D. P. Deshpande, Secretary, Gokhale Education Society, representatives of the Rotary Club of Borivali East, school authorities, students and members of the local community.
Thakkar Bappa School is a government-aided private school serving students from low-income tribal communities in the region. The whole-school transformation initiative focuses on improving access to essential facilities and creating a more conducive environment for learning.
The project includes a newly constructed school building with classrooms, a dedicated science laboratory, bathroom facilities in the boys' and girls' hostels, and drinking water facilities. These additions are intended to provide students with safer and more functional infrastructure to support their education and well-being.
Commenting on the initiative, Moon Kyung Kang, Chief Executive Officer, Mirae Asset India, said, "At Mirae Asset, Citizenship is one of our core values and guides our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. We believe that education is one of the most powerful drivers of social progress and long-term community development. Through the transformation of Thakkar Bappa School, we are investing in an environment where nearly 1,200 students can learn, explore and build a brighter future for themselves. This project reflects our commitment to creating sustainable impact through initiatives that address fundamental community needs. We are grateful to our partners and all stakeholders who have helped bring this vision to life."
Ritesh Patel, Director & Mirae Asset Foundation Committee Member, said, "A supportive learning environment extends beyond textbooks and classrooms. Access to quality infrastructure, sanitation facilities, clean drinking water and practical learning resources plays a vital role in a child's educational journey. Through this project, we have sought to address these essential needs and create a safer and more inspiring space for students. We hope this transformation will contribute to improved learning outcomes and create lasting value for the school and the wider community."
Mirae Asset Foundation's education initiatives cover scholarships, educational infrastructure, learning outcomes and research innovation. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than 4,700 scholarships and reached over 80,900 students through its education-focused programmes across India.
The Palghar project forms part of the Foundation's broader efforts to support education and community development by improving access to essential facilities and learning resources.
