Gandhinagar (Gujarat), May 02, 2020: Amid increasing demand of PPE kits for frontline staff fighting CVOID, Maruti Suzuki Joint Venture Krishna Maruti has committed to supply 10 lakh masks to Gujarat government. The company also handed over the first batch of five lakh units of triple-ply face masks to the Gujarat Administration at Gandhinagar.
As part of its CSR initiative towards helping safety of Corona Warriors of Gujarat Government, the triple ply face masks were handed over to Dr Darsi Suman Ratnam, Managing Director, Gujarat Medical Service Corporation and Bhartiba Vaghela, Deputy Collector, Government of Gujarat by Vimal Gupta, General Manager at Krishna Maruti.
Mr Bhavesh Shah, Company Secretary & Legal Head, Suzuki Motor Gujarat graced the occasion.
Dr Darsi Suman Ratnam, Managing Director, Gujarat Medical Service Corporation Limited said that the help from Krishna Maruti is very timely as we need large amount of PPE to ensure safety of our corona worriers. "My compliments to Maruti Suzuki, SMG and Krishna Group for this very timely assistance which will come very handy not just for Ahmedabad but for the entire Gujarat in this time of crisis," he said.
Speaking on the initiative, Ashok Kapur, Chairman, Krishna Group said that the initiative is aimed at helping the state government in its fight against corona pandemic.
"It is a time of national crisis and this is our duty to the nation. We have committed 1 million masks each to Haryana and Gujarat Governments. I am also planning to import some machines and produce N-95 masks. All important safety and physical distancing guidelines were observed while manufacturing these masks at our facilities to ensure the safety of all the staff," he said.
Suzuki Motor Gujarat is a Suzuki subsidiary at Hansalpur that manufactures cars on a contract basis for Maruti Suzuki India. Krishna group has its manufacturing plant next to Suzuki Motor Gujarat plant at Hansalpur.
