New Delhi, June 05, 2026: Marico Limited has reported reaching more than 42 lakh individuals during FY26 through its implementation of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India’s (FSSAI) flagship Eat Right India programme.

The FMCG company carried out 119 interventions across Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Assam, and Delhi, focusing on food safety, hygiene, and nutrition awareness.

Implemented under the theme “Sahi Bhojan. Behtar Jeevan” (Right Food. Better Life), the programme seeks to promote safe food practices, healthy eating habits, and sustainable consumption through collaboration with FSSAI, state food authorities, and training and auditing partners.

As part of the initiative, Marico supported the certification of 46 railway stations, 24 campuses, 12 clean street food hubs, 10 places of worship, and seven schools. The programme also included 20 capacity-building sessions for students, women, self-help groups, and local communities.

The interventions were supported by training, audits, and certification processes aligned with FSSAI standards to strengthen food safety and hygiene practices across public and community spaces.

Amit Bhasin, Chief Legal Officer & Group Counsel and Secretary, CSR Committee, Marico Limited, said, “At Marico, we are proud to play an active role as an implementation partner in advancing FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right India’ movement. We believe that improving access to safe, nutritious, and responsibly produced food is fundamental to building healthier communities. Through this programme, we are working across institutions and public ecosystems pan India to strengthen food hygiene standards, enhance nutrition awareness, and enable persistent behavioural change at scale.”

Aligned with the three pillars of the Eat Right India movement—Eat Safe, Eat Healthy, and Eat Sustainable—the programme promotes hygienic food handling, balanced nutrition, responsible consumption, and reduction of food waste. It also encourages the adoption of local and seasonal diets through targeted awareness and training activities.

According to Marico, its cumulative implementation of the Eat Right India programme has reached more than 1.85 crore people since inception. The outreach includes interventions across over 600 schools, 128 campuses, 55 places of worship, and 25 clean street food hubs, along with awareness campaigns and community engagement initiatives.

The company said it plans to further expand certified food environments and awareness programmes through continued collaboration with stakeholders, supporting the broader objective of improving food safety and nutrition outcomes across India.
