Mumbai, October 22, 2026: Marico Limited has reported an 89.3% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity compared with its FY13 baseline, alongside a 29.95% reduction in Scope 3 emissions intensity against its FY19 baseline. The company shared the figures on the occasion of the International Day of Climate Action.

The company’s climate strategy is guided by its ESG 2030 Roadmap, which sets a target of achieving net-zero emissions across its owned manufacturing operations in India by 2030 and across its global operations by 2040.

According to Marico, renewable energy adoption, energy-efficiency measures, process optimisation and the transition to lower-carbon energy sources have contributed to its emissions reduction. In FY2025-26, renewable energy accounted for 77.3% of the company’s operational energy consumption. Its Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions intensity stood at 0.84 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e) per crore of revenue during the year.

As part of its decarbonisation roadmap, Marico is targeting a 93% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, compared with the FY13 baseline. The company plans to address residual emissions through carbon sequestration initiatives and verified carbon offsets.

Commenting on the company’s climate action progress, Amit Bhasin, Chief Legal Officer, Group General Counsel and Secretary, CSR Committee of Marico Limited, said, “Climate action is an integral part of our business strategy and long-term growth agenda. Building a future-ready organisation requires sustainability to be embedded across operations, supply chains and decision-making processes. The progress we have made in reducing emissions across our operations and value chain reflects the collective efforts of our teams, partners and stakeholders. As we advance towards our climate ambitions, we will continue to scale renewable energy adoption, improve energy efficiency, strengthen responsible sourcing practices, drive packaging circularity and collaborate across our value chain to deliver on our long-term Net Zero commitments.”

Marico’s Climate Transition Plan brings its climate initiatives together under an enterprise-wide framework, linking emissions targets with implementation roadmaps, governance mechanisms, resource allocation and measurable outcomes. The company said the framework is intended to strengthen business resilience, accelerate decarbonisation and support long-term value creation.

Further details on the company’s climate targets, transition pathway and decarbonisation strategy are available in its Climate Action Report FY2025-26.
