New Delhi, September 2, 2026: Mankind Pharma Limited has launched a nationwide public awareness campaign, ‘Angdaan Mahadaan’, with an objective of encouraging 1 crore Indians to pledge for organ donation.

The campaign seeks to increase awareness about organ donation, address myths and misconceptions surrounding transplantation, and encourage people to make informed decisions about becoming organ donors. The initiative was launched in the presence of transplant specialists and representatives from the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO).

The campaign comes amid the continuing gap between the demand for organ transplants and the availability of donated organs. Mankind Pharma said the initiative aims to take conversations around organ donation beyond hospitals and healthcare institutions and into homes, families and communities.

As part of the campaign, Mankind Pharma hosted an Organ Donation Awareness Event involving more than 25,000 Mankindians, their families and extended communities. The event included discussions on organ donation, transplantation-related myths and facts, and the organ donation landscape in India.

The programme brought together Dr. D.S. Ray, Chief Nephrologist and Head, Renal Transplant Programme, R N Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Narayana Health, Kolkata; Dr. Abhideep Chaudhary, Chairman and HOD, HPB Surgery and Liver Transplantation, BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi; and Dr. Kanika Rastogi, National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (NOTTO), New Delhi.

Commenting on the campaign, Rajeev Juneja, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Mankind Pharma Ltd., said, “To give is to live beyond yourself. Through Angdaan Mahadaan, we want to inspire people across India to recognise the extraordinary power of a simple decision: the decision to give someone another chance at life. Our ambition is to motivate 1 crore Indians to pledge for organ donation and make this a movement that creates a lasting legacy of hope,”

The campaign encourages individuals to register their organ donation pledge through NOTTO and to discuss their decision with family members. Mankind Pharma said the initiative is intended to encourage wider public participation in organ donation and build greater awareness around the process.
