Lotus Petal Foundation Launches ‘Teach Live’ to Support Remedial Learning for Students Across India

New Delhi, June 17, 2026: Lotus Petal Foundation has launched Teach Live, a live and interactive online remedial learning programme aimed at helping children who require additional academic support beyond regular classroom instruction.

Currently in its pilot phase, the initiative is benefiting 30 students across Haryana and Delhi and caters to children in Grades 3 to 8 (ages 7–14). The Foundation plans to expand the programme to reach students across India, particularly those from underserved communities who face learning gaps despite being enrolled in school.

Teach Live has been designed to address a persistent challenge in India’s education system, where school attendance and enrolment rates remain high, but many students continue to struggle with foundational learning and grade-level competencies. The programme offers structured, teacher-led support through live classes conducted after school hours, helping students strengthen their understanding of key concepts and improve learning outcomes.

The initiative seeks to provide academic assistance to children who may not have access to educational support at home. Many parents, despite their commitment to their children's education, may lack the educational background required to help with lessons and homework.

The launch comes at a time when India's education sector continues to face resource constraints. A recent NITI Aayog report highlighted challenges including more than one million teacher vacancies, high pupil-teacher ratios in several regions, and over one lakh schools being managed by a single teacher.

Kushal Raj Chakravorty, Founder and Managing Trustee, Lotus Petal Foundation, said, "Being present in a classroom does not automatically translate into learning. Many children need additional support, encouragement, and explanation to truly understand concepts. By leveraging technology and dedicated educators, the initiative aims to reach children across India and help them overcome barriers to learning. Lotus Petal Foundation invites individuals, institutions, and organizations to support the Teach Live initiative and join the mission of creating equitable learning opportunities for every child. Teach Live was created to ensure that every child has access to a teacher who can guide them, regardless of their circumstances."

Unlike pre-recorded lessons or automated learning platforms, Teach Live focuses on real-time interaction between teachers and students. The programme enables educators to identify individual learning gaps, answer questions, and provide personalised academic guidance.

Lotus Petal Foundation stated that the programme is intended to complement existing educational efforts by bringing qualified teachers directly to students through a digital platform. The organisation is also inviting institutions, community partners, and stakeholders to collaborate in scaling the initiative and expanding access to quality remedial education across the country.
