New Delhi, April 28, 2026: Lava International Limited has partnered with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to digitally empower 20,941 Anganwadi workers across the state, strengthening last-mile service delivery under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) framework.
The initiative was formally marked at an event held at Lok Bhavan, Lucknow, under the theme “Suposhit Uttar Pradesh, Sashakt Bharat,” in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with senior officials from the Women and Child Development department and approximately 1,000 Anganwadi workers.
As part of the collaboration, Lava has provided purpose-built smartphones from its Storm Play series, tailored for field-level use. These devices are equipped with Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities, a supervisor monitoring application, and state-specific interface integrations to align with ICDS and Women & Child Development systems.
The deployment of these devices is aimed at enabling real-time data capture and digital reporting by frontline workers. Anganwadi workers can now record maternal and child health data, track attendance and daily activities, monitor nutrition distribution for beneficiaries, and update information directly into centralised systems. This shift from manual to digital processes is expected to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and speed of decision-making.
The initiative also facilitates better monitoring of food stock availability and helps in early identification of health and nutrition risks, supporting improved outcomes for mothers and children.
Mr. Lloyd D’souza, Chief Business Officer – Enterprise Business, Lava International Limited said, “Digital transformation at the grassroots is not just about access to devices, but about building systems that work reliably at scale for those delivering essential services on a day-to-day basis. We are equally delighted and proud to collaborate with the Government of Uttar Pradesh to further their mission of enabling digital transformation through Anganwadi workers. This initiative is a testament of our ability to design and deliver technology solutions tailored for real-world public sector needs, combining hardware, software and on-ground understanding. We remain committed to supporting large-scale, inclusive digital adoption across Bharat.”
The initiative aligns with the state government’s broader efforts to strengthen welfare delivery systems through technology-driven interventions while bridging the digital divide at the grassroots level. It also reinforces Lava’s role in supporting public sector digital transformation initiatives across India.
