New Delhi, May 08, 2026: Dr. Abburi Vidyasagar, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Avantel Limited, has contributed 60 lakh equity shares of the company to Lakshmee Foundation. The shares are currently valued at approximately ₹90 crore and are intended to support healthcare infrastructure development in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The contribution will be used to expand the Foundation’s healthcare initiatives, including the development of a larger multi-specialty hospital in Vijayawada. The proposed facility is expected to offer services across multiple specialties such as medicine, surgery, women and child healthcare, cardiac care, emergency medicine, and intensive care, along with integrated diagnostics and laboratory services.

In 2024, Dr. Vidyasagar had also donated 45 lakh shares of Avantel Limited, with a realised value of approximately ₹76.44 crore, to support healthcare programmes and community outreach initiatives.

Dr. Abburi Vidyasagar said, “Access to quality healthcare continues to remain out of reach for many families. Through this contribution, we hope to strengthen long-term healthcare infrastructure and support initiatives that create lasting community impact.”

Founded in 2010 in memory of Late Smt. Abburi Lakshmeekantham, Lakshmee Foundation works across healthcare, education, women welfare, orphan support, old age care, and humanitarian relief. The organisation currently operates a 20-bed multi-specialty hospital in Vijayawada, serving around 90 patients daily and having provided care to nearly 60,000 individuals over the past three years.

Across its programmes, the Foundation has impacted more than 99,000 people through medical camps, cataract surgeries, diagnostics, and community healthcare services.

The planned expansion into a 150+ bed multi-specialty hospital is expected to improve access to healthcare services in the region, particularly in diagnostics, emergency and critical care, and long-term treatment, addressing growing demand in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
