Ladakh Signs 3-Year MoU With DEVI Sansthan for FLN

Ladakh, August 11, 2026: The School Education Department, Union Territory of Ladakh, has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dignity Education Vision International (DEVI Sansthan) to strengthen Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) across the region.

The collaboration aims to strengthen the implementation of FLN initiatives and help children across Ladakh develop essential skills in reading, writing and numeracy. The partnership will also focus on supporting educators and improving learning outcomes.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Smt. Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Secretary, School Education Department, UT Ladakh. DEVI Sansthan announced the partnership through its official social media communication, describing it as a step towards strengthening FLN education in Ladakh.

Under the collaboration, DEVI Sansthan and the School Education Department will work together to support educators and strengthen the delivery of foundational learning. The partnership is intended to help create stronger foundations in literacy and numeracy among children across the Union Territory.

The initiative comes as governments and education stakeholders continue to focus on improving foundational learning as a critical component of school education. Strong foundational skills in the early years can help children progress more effectively through subsequent stages of learning.

DEVI Sansthan, which works on foundational literacy and numeracy, said the collaboration would support efforts to “empower educators, improve learning outcomes and ensure that every child in Ladakh acquires essential foundational skills.”

The three-year partnership is expected to provide a framework for sustained collaboration between the School Education Department and DEVI Sansthan, with the focus remaining on strengthening classroom learning and building the capacity of educators across Ladakh.
