New Delhi, December 22, 2025: International Spirits and Wines Association of India (ISWAI) has announced the launch of a nationwide digital movement titled ‘I-pledge to Never-Drink-and-Drive’ (I-Pledge NDAD), aimed at encouraging responsible consumption and promoting safer driving behaviour across India.
The initiative builds on earlier on-ground campaigns conducted in Lucknow and Chandigarh and now expands its reach nationally through a digital-first approach. By leveraging online platforms, ISWAI aims to drive sustained behavioural change and foster a culture of zero tolerance towards drinking and driving.
As part of the movement, citizens across the country are invited to voluntarily commit to never drinking and driving by taking an online pledge hosted on ISWAI’s dedicated platform. Participants receive a personalised certificate acknowledging their commitment, while a real-time pledge counter reflects growing public participation. The campaign also encourages social sharing using the hashtag #NeverDrinkAndDrive to amplify awareness.
Speaking on the rollout, Sanjit Padhi, CEO, ISWAI, said, “The ‘I-pledge’ movement is not just a digital initiative, it is a collective call for responsible behaviour. By empowering individuals to make a conscious commitment to never drink and drive, we aim to build a culture where safety is prioritised. The power of ‘I-pledge’ reinforces the fact that ‘change begins with you’.”
He further added, “Driving under the influence continues to be a leading cause of road accidents in India. Through the ‘I-pledge’ platform, we encourage citizens to choose safer alternatives, such as a designated driver, a cab, or not driving after drinking at all. With over 1,800 citizens already committed, the campaign calls on many more to take the pledge, spread awareness, and help make our roads safer for everyone.”
ISWAI stated that the movement aligns with its broader efforts to promote responsible consumption and road safety, particularly during festive seasons and periods of increased social activity. Through continued awareness initiatives, the association aims to engage communities and reinforce safer choices among citizens.
The association has called upon individuals across India to participate in the ‘I-Pledge to Never-Drink-and-Drive’ movement and contribute to making Indian roads safer.
