InterGlobe Foundation Launches HERITAGE Fellowships 2025 to Spotlight India’s Intangible Cultural Legacy

New Delhi, July 24, 2025: InterGlobe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of InterGlobe Enterprises, has announced the fourth edition of the InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships. This year’s fellowship aims to highlight India’s rich intangible heritage and traditional crafts associated with historic built heritage sites across the country.

Applications are now open to researchers, journalists, architects, and creative practitioners. Selected fellows will have the opportunity to explore, document, and interpret the cultural practices, craft traditions, rituals, and oral narratives embedded in the communities surrounding these heritage sites. The submission formats may include essays, photo stories, illustrations, and other creative mediums, with the fellowship duration ranging from three to six months depending on the project’s scope.

“The fourth edition of the InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships builds on the success of our previous programs. The focus on intangible heritage and craft traditions is particularly exciting as it allows us to uncover and celebrate the cultural practices that breathe life into our built heritage,” said Rohini Bhatia, Chairperson, InterGlobe Foundation. “We believe these fellowships not only contribute significantly to the documentation and preservation of India's diverse cultural tapestry but also inspire a deeper appreciation for the stories and traditions that define our nation.”

Launched in 2022, the InterGlobe HERITAGE Fellowships have offered a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds to research and bring visibility to lesser-known aspects of Indian culture. Past projects have included explorations of Kashmiri folk theatre, tribal festivals in Telangana, and the revival of traditional musical instruments and architectural styles.

Since its inception in 2014, InterGlobe Foundation has undertaken several major heritage conservation efforts including the restoration of the Abdur Rahim Khan-I-Khanan’s mausoleum in Delhi, stepwells in Delwara, and tilework on historic monuments in Hyderabad, along with cultural mapping of Indian cities through the ‘My City My Heritage’ campaign.

The HERITAGE Fellowship program continues this legacy, furthering InterGlobe Foundation’s commitment to preserving India’s cultural and artistic heritage.

Applications for the 2025 edition will be accepted until August 24, 2025. More details, including eligibility and application guidelines, are available at: www.interglobe.com/the-interglobe-heritage-fellowships-2025
