Hyderabad, December 16, 2025: Insecticides India Ltd. (IIL) has intensified its field-level outreach among chilli farmers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana through its IIL Crop Solutions (ICS) programme, aimed at reducing cultivation costs and improving crop productivity through scientific practices.

Under the initiative, selected chilli plots are being treated with the ICS package alongside neighbouring plots following traditional farmer practices. These demonstration plots allow farmers from nearby villages to directly observe differences in crop health, pest control and yield outcomes. Multiple ICS plots have been established across different regions so that farmers can personally assess the results of adopting a complete and timely scientific crop-care approach.

Farmers visiting the demonstration fields reported healthier plant growth, improved flowering and fruit setting, and better pest management through precise application of crop-care solutions. The programme is designed to address key challenges faced by chilli growers, including rising input costs, erratic weather conditions, pest pressure and fluctuating market prices.

Mr. Dushyant Sood, Chief Marketing Officer, Insecticides (India) Limited, said, “This initiative of ICS is about giving farmers clarity, confidence and practical solutions they can trust. When a farmer sees results with his own eyes, it gives him confidence that he can also increase his yield by adopting the same. Our mission is to ensure that every grower feels empowered to improve crop health and protect their livelihood. We are working for ICS for other crops as well along with Chili across geographies.”

Mr. V. K. Garg, Vice President, Insecticides (India) Ltd., added, “Farmers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been facing increasingly challenging chilli seasons over the past few years due to erratic weather, rising pest pressure, fluctuating market price and escalating input costs. At IIL, we strongly believe that meaningful support goes beyond products—it requires being present with farmers on the ground. By standing with them in the field, understanding their real-time challenges, and offering timely technical guidance and solutions, we aim to help them protect their crops, improve productivity, and sustain their livelihoods.”

Mr. Pravin Jadhav, General Manager – Horticulture and Plantations, said, “ICS project is all about showing the difference visually to the farmers in the ICS plots, these all plots are of the progressive farmers of their respective areas, and they have enthusiastically shared that this scientific approach can bring their cost down by 10-15% and increase the productivity by 10%. This will give a double benefit to the farmers. It is not always about using the right product, it is also about the right stage, right dosage and right method that can bring a noticeable difference.”

IIL plans to expand the ICS plot programme to more villages across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the coming months. The company also aims to extend the learnings to a wider farming community through digital and social media platforms, enabling farmers who could not attend the demonstrations to benefit from science-led crop management practices.
