New Delhi, November 05, 2025: Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL), one of India’s leading agrochemical companies, has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable and responsible growth through measurable progress across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions in its latest ESG Progress Report titled ‘Growing with Purpose’ for FY 2024–25.
The report outlines IIL’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into all facets of its operations — from renewable energy adoption and biodiversity enhancement to social inclusion and strong corporate governance.
Key highlights from the report include:
- A 4% increase in renewable electricity consumption through targeted technology upgrades.
- 18% women representation in executive roles.
- Launch of IIL Growsmart, a multilingual digital learning platform for employee upskilling.
- ₹2.52 crore invested in community initiatives focused on education, water, sanitation, and healthcare.

On the environmental front, IIL has implemented multiple efficiency measures across its manufacturing units, including biomass substitution at its Chopanki facility, Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) optimization at Dahej, and cooling tower upgrades to reduce energy use and emissions. The company reported total energy consumption of 22,41,065 GJ, with Scope 1 emissions at 14,658 tCO₂e and Scope 2 emissions at 15,354 tCO₂e.
IIL has also advanced biodiversity initiatives by creating a 4,000-plant mini forest in partnership with RIICO, expanding green cover to over 30% of its operational areas, and implementing 818 hectares of water recharge structures in Rajasthan.
On the social front, IIL continues to invest in workforce diversity and development, achieving 18% women representation in executive positions and conducting 4,800+ hours of training focused on safety, compliance, and leadership. The company’s newly launched IIL Growsmart platform features 15+ interactive courses in multiple regional languages to enhance employee learning and product knowledge.
Through its community initiatives, IIL contributed ₹2.52 crore toward rural development programs, including education, sanitation, clean water, and healthcare. Collaborations with agricultural universities, NGOs, and rural schools have further strengthened farmer awareness and community well-being.
In the governance domain, IIL maintained a high standard of transparency and ethics, with a Board comprising 50% independent directors, including two women directors. Its comprehensive policy framework—including the Business Responsibility Policy, Code of Conduct, and Business Partner Code—ensures compliance, ethical operations, and alignment with global disclosure standards.
