Bengaluru, November 10, 2025: Infosys, in collaboration with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), has unveiled the Wellness Matters: Mental Health First Aider Training Manual—a comprehensive guide aimed at helping employees recognize early signs of mental distress, provide peer support, and facilitate access to professional help. The initiative is part of Infosys’ ongoing commitment to fostering psychologically safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace environments.
The Mental Health First Aider Training Manual is designed to equip employees with practical tools to identify and respond to mental health concerns. It covers key areas such as self-awareness, self-care, understanding mental health conditions, addressing substance use issues, and building basic counseling skills.
Infosys has trained its entire team of Human Resource professionals across India as Mental Health First Aiders, creating a network of trained responders who can provide early support to employees in need. The program follows a ‘training of trainers’ model, allowing certified participants to pass on their learning within teams, thereby embedding a culture of mental wellness throughout the organization.
The manual is the outcome of a year-long collaborative effort between Infosys’ wellness team and NIMHANS. The project began with focus group discussions to identify employee well-being needs and was co-developed by a multidisciplinary team of NIMHANS professionals—including psychiatric social workers, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and public health experts—in partnership with the Infosys Health Assessment & Lifestyle Enrichment (HALE) team.
Anchored in Infosys’ award-winning HALE initiative, which integrates physical, emotional, and mental wellness, the training builds on the company’s holistic approach to employee well-being. Infosys’ wellness philosophy—reflected in its tagline #wellnessmatters—underscores its belief that employee well-being is central to trust, productivity, and organizational success.
The collaboration between Infosys and NIMHANS represents a proactive step toward normalizing mental health conversations at work and equipping employees with the awareness and confidence to support one another, reinforcing the importance of holistic wellness in the modern workplace.
