Organised by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, the event marks the 2nd Annual CSR Day in India, commemorating Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary and his philosophy of trusteeship in corporate social responsibility.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shri Durgadas Uikey, Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and Shri Harsh Malhotra, Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, who jointly inaugurated the CSR Exhibition. The dignitaries interacted with tribal artisans and entrepreneurs supported by TRIFED, who showcased their crafts, indigenous knowledge systems, and sustainable livelihood products.

The event also featured senior dignitaries including Shri Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region; Shri M. Raja Murugan, Managing Director, TRIFED; Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, Director General & CEO, IICA; Mr. Shombi Sharp, UN Resident Coordinator in India; and Prof. Garima Dadhich, Head, School of Business Environment, IICA.

The two-day conference features thematic sessions on CSR for Culture, Crafts and Indigenous Knowledge as Livelihoods, CSR and Digital Inclusion: Technology for Tribal Financial Education and Market Access, and CSR for Water, Land and Climate Resilience in Tribal Districts.

A key highlight is the Live CSR Tribal Welfare Problem-Solving Lab, an interactive session where tribal exhibitors present real-world challenges—ranging from access to healthcare and water to market linkages and education—directly to CSR leaders and practitioners for live solution-building.

The conference will conclude with a valedictory session addressed by Ms. Deepti Gaur Mukherjee, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and Shri K. Moses Chalai, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.
