Gurugram, September 13, 2025: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced that its public EV charging network has delivered over 2.3 million units of clean energy through more than 1,80,000 charging sessions, preventing more than 1.6 million kg of tailpipe CO₂ emissions.

As of August 2025, HMIL has installed 119 public EV fast charging stations, part of its plan to set up 600 stations across India. The network covers key highways, major cities, and HMIL dealerships, with facilities designed to provide convenience and reliability for EV users.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning, HMIL, said, “At Hyundai Motor India, we are strongly positioned to lead the acceleration of EV adoption across the country. Leveraging Hyundai Motor Company’s global expertise in EV and battery technologies, we’ve introduced cutting-edge products like the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and CRETA Electric. Alongside this, we are actively building a comprehensive EV ecosystem designed to ease range anxiety and provide seamless charging access for both Hyundai and non-Hyundai EV customers - across major highways, key urban centers and HMIL dealerships. We have significantly expanded our EV retail footprint with 542 sales outlets across 238 cities, as of August 2025. In alignment with the Government of India’s vision for mass mobility electrification, HMIL remains committed to strategic investments in both new-age EV platforms and robust charging infrastructure.”

The company’s charging stations, with over 97% uptime, are strategically located in cities including Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai, as well as highways such as Delhi-Chandigarh, Mumbai-Pune, and Bengaluru-Pune. Most sites feature amenities such as restaurants, coffee shops, and safety measures including 24x7 CCTV surveillance and on-ground marshals during peak hours.

In addition, HMIL’s myHyundai app provides access to over 20,000 charging points from both HMIL and partner networks, enabling discovery, booking, and digital payments. The company has also introduced Hyundai Pay, an in-car payment platform allowing EV charging transactions directly from a vehicle’s infotainment system.

HMIL offers optional home charging solutions, including 7.4 kW and 11 kW chargers with connected features. As part of its regional focus, HMIL has committed to installing 100 fast charging stations in Tamil Nadu, with 16 already operational and the number expected to reach 30 by the end of 2025.

Hyundai Motor India stated that these measures underscore its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric solutions, supporting India’s transition to clean mobility.
