Hyundai Foundation Extends Safe Water Access to 134 Gadchiroli Schools
Gadchiroli, September 18, 2026: Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the CSR arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), has extended its H₂OPE initiative to another 134 government schools in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, providing water purification and storage infrastructure to benefit more than 26,000 students and community members.
The latest phase, implemented with an investment of ₹2.95 crore, was formally handed over at Kamlatai Munghate High School, Sonapur, in the presence of Shri Avishyant Panda, IAS, District Collector & District Magistrate, Gadchiroli, and Shri Rajendra M. Bhuyar, Additional Chief Executive Officer - Zilla Parishad, Gadchiroli, along with school representatives and Hyundai Motor India officials.
With this expansion, the H₂OPE initiative now covers 384 government schools in Gadchiroli, building on an earlier intervention across 250 schools. Since its launch in FY2023-24, the programme has recorded a cumulative investment of ₹8.36 crore and, according to HMIF, has impacted more than one lakh students across the district.
The current phase includes ISO-certified RO units, water coolers, six-layer water storage tanks and TDS/pH meters for monitoring water quality. School staff have also been trained in the operation and maintenance of the systems.

Hygiene awareness sessions and student activities, including drawing competitions, were also conducted as part of the programme.
