Humanscale Launches Refreshed Circularity Programme in India

Bengaluru | October 13, 2026: Humanscale, a New York-headquartered workplace ergonomics company, has launched its ‘Refreshed’ circularity programme in India through S Cube Ergonomics Pvt Ltd., its manufacturing and distribution partner in the country. The initiative offers selected refurbished ergonomic chairs as an alternative to new furniture, with a focus on extending product life and reducing waste.

The programme involves collecting selected used Humanscale products and restoring them through inspection, cleaning, sanitisation, functional testing and repairs. Worn components are replaced with approved parts where required, followed by a final quality check before delivery.

Humanscale has previously implemented circularity initiatives with organisations including Wells Fargo, TESCO and NVIDIA, collecting used chairs for responsible end-of-life management. In projects involving VISA, TESCO, PayPal and Pegasystems, used chairs have been taken back, refurbished and returned to workplaces for continued use.

The initial ‘Refreshed’ collection in India includes three chair models: Freedom Headrest, Freedom Task and Liberty. The company plans to add more workplace products, including task chairs, height-adjustable desks and monitor arms.

Alastair Stubbs, Country Director India, Humanscale, said: “Refreshed reflects Humanscale’s belief that good design should deliver lasting value while minimising environmental impact. By bringing this circularity programme to India, we are extending our commitment to sustainability and demonstrating how thoughtful product design and reuse can help move the workplace furniture industry towards a more circular future.”

Sathish Nandagopal, Founder and Director, S Cube Ergonomics Pvt Ltd., said: “Choosing a Refreshed product helps reduce waste, conserve valuable materials and extend the life of premium furniture-supporting a circular economy without compromising on quality. You are not buying a second-hand product; you are investing in a fully renewed Refreshed product, restored through Humanscale’s stringent refurbishment protocol to meet the same performance, safety and ergonomic standards as a new product.”

The programme is intended to keep existing furniture in use for longer, retaining the value of materials and resources used in manufacturing. The initiative brings Humanscale’s established circularity approach to Indian customers through a refurbished product range.
